BEHIND THE BRUSH: FLOWER POWER

Deb McNaughton, the artist behind the brush, made it her mission to make sure her mixed-media, hand-created designs were the embodiment of Picnic Season in a visual sense; super-bright, fun and laid-back.

But what inspired Deb to create such bold, fresh artwork for Picnic Season?

After a long winter, who doesn’t live for the smell of freshly cut grass and warm sunshine on balmy, breezy Spring afternoons?

The first hint of Spring is in the air and it’s officially t-shirt weather.

“Flower Power was created to showcase my signature colours, “ said Deb.

“Bright pinks and purples with hints of green, blue and yellow were a bouquet of flowers waiting to be transferred onto a picnic rug.

Deb has used acrylic, corrugated cardboard and felt on canvas to capture the essence of Picnic Season in her signature laid back style.

“I wanted this piece to scream ‘Spring’ which is when Picnic Season officially kicks off.”
