BEHIND THE SCENES OF OUR CAMPAIGN SHOOT
We’re head over heels for the bright, fresh images captured by the very talented Chloe Smith Photography. You can practically smell the pineapple and warm summer sun wafting through every perfect shot of our Really Big Picnic Rugs.
But, a lot goes into achieving the perfect shot. Come behind the scenes with team PS to find out how shoot day really panned out. Spoiler alert…our kids are ferals, just like yours.
IT WAS THE MIDDLE OF WINTER
The day started out foggy and an artic FOUR degrees (got to love Winter in Victoria!)
We all faithfully donned our best summer picnic gear, cursed the 100% humidity and the havoc is was wreaking on our hair and crossed our fingers the sun would come out. Which it did, at exactly the right moment.
WE’D ALREADY RESCHEDULED ONCE
Our original shoot date had been booked in for weeks and ended up falling on a day of torrential rain, hail, squally winds, and SNOW in the nearby Otways. Safe to say we pulled the pin on that one quick smart. Again, Victorian Winter. Y U SO COLD?
KATE BROKE HER TOE
Well into her third trimester at the time, head picnic lady Kate broke her little toe when a particularly heavy errant dinner plate fell out of the boot when unpacking the car. But the show must go on…
THE KIDS DID NOT BEHAVE
That saying about not working with kids or animals? Truth. The really big picnic rugs proved their kid-proof status by holding up perfectly to an array of food/drink/general sticky fingers.
BUT THE SHOTS ARE BEAUTIFUL
Nothing worth doing is easy….and the end result is a positively lovely collection of sun-drenched shots. It’s Picnic Season!
