RESPONSIBLE MANUFACTURING

Picnic Season is a 100% proudly Aussie owned and run small business based in Geelong. We create built-to-last, superbly designed products in beautiful, fresh, colourful art prints to create a portable outdoor space with a touch of design-luxe worth showing off. We design our products to last: beautiful quality investment pieces to be handed down from generation to generation, for this season and all the seasons to come. We release a small number of artist collaboration ranges each year. No fast fashion here!

 

We work exclusively with Aussie artists to design the prints for our gear and we are equally as proud to work with two factories in Eastern China to produce our rugs and baskets responsibly and to the highest of quality standards.  

 

When considering partnering with a factory to produce our products, minimising the potential for labour and human rights issues in our supply chain is a non-negotiable for us. If a factory is unable to commit to a number of mandates from us, then will find a factory who can.

 

The products we produce are obtained through responsible methods, with absolutely no child labour or forced labour. Workers in the factories we employ to produce our products work under safe and hygienic working conditions and are paid at least the minimum national industry benchmark standards or collective bargaining agreement. Working hours for all workers comply with national / local laws and industry benchmark standards.

 

We do not undertake or commission any animal testing on our products or their components, and our products do not contain any inputs derived from animals. 

 

No portion of our product is made from recycled material, however we do save fabric wastage from the manufacturing process and turn it onto our Wet Things Bags, which are made from offcuts that would otherwise have ended up in the scrap heap.
