Our friends over at Sunset Screens have come up with some ripper tips for planning your own backyard movie night.

SO you have rented the inflatable screen and now it's time to plan your movie party. Not sure where to start? Below you will find my top 5 tips for making that night worthy of your own little golden statue.
Pick a movie
You may like to start with the movie theme or title and use this as the inspiration for your decorations and snacks.
Seating
The beauty of the blow up screen means you can host your party indoors or outdoors depending on the weather and space you have available. This also leaves you open for what you choose to use for seating.
At our recent party we had some epic picnic rugs borrowed from the lovey Picnic Season. We also suggested our guests bring their own pillows and beanbags which worked out so well as it meant everyone had something to make them feel comfortable.
You could also encourage guests to bring camp chairs if you wanted them to provide their own seating.
I do feel with a movie night there is nothing better than kicking back on a picnic rug and relaxing as you take in the movie.
Snacks
As we hosted our party during Summer we could not start the movie until a little later due to daylight savings. because of this we only had to provide snacks rather than a full meal.
We had some popcorn that was just purchased from the supermarket and we also had a DIY ice cream bar. The best thing about making our own popcorn rather than buying already popped corn was that it was still warm when our movie watchers when munching on it. We also added in some little touches like individual popcorn boxes to really give it that movie feeling.
Drinks
We opted to have our guests BYO their own drinks however we also had some soft drink and water available.
I think this completely depends on the style, theme of the party as well as the age of those watching.
Decorations
Now I think this is one of the best parts of planning a party.
We went with bright colours and some traditional movie themed ideas.
We use the light box with "Now Showing" to set the scene and had some small blackboards around with different messages on them.
Paper honeycomb balls hung to add in some colour and matched the Picnic Season rugs that was the seating area for our guests.
It was due to get cooler as the night went on so we had a basket with some blankets available for those who really wanted to snuggle in.
I think fairy lights are a must when planning any sort of party and they really gave our night that special feeling.
